This modernization takes advantage of daylight to improve the effectiveness of interior spaces. The curved shapes of the site’s hard surface elements extend from the curved forms of the interior commons, complimenting the transition from interior to exterior. The building design prioritizes teaching and learning, technology, flexibility, and community involvement while integrating energy efficiency and sustainability to create a state-of-the-art elementary school for Mead School District.
