In updating Midway Elementary School, new and modernized spaces were linked by the graceful arc of the commons corridor. The result is a plan that provides flexibility and order in classroom assignments and celebrates parent and patron participation in school events. New curved sidewalks compliment the interior commons arc, leading students and parents into an updated entry, which presents a friendly face visible from the street and provides a welcoming access point to the neighborhood.
