MID-COLUMBIA PARTNERSHIP
Type: Educational
Client: Kennewick School District
Location: Kennewick, Washington
An existing gymnasium building on the former Desert Hills Middle School campus was renovated to serve the needs of the Mid-Columbia Partnership. This program supports 330 home-school students and their families in grades K-12. The 25,000 SF building was re-purposed to include 13 classrooms, a full gym, a cafeteria, and family spaces. New windows were cut into the CMU exterior to provide daylighting to spaces around the perimeter of the central gymnasium. Previously located in portable classroom pods in the parking lot of the District’s Fruitland Building, the students and families of the Mid-Columbia Partnership now have a permanent home that instills a sense of pride.
