Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute is a United States emersion program for students from Mukogawa Women’s University in Japan. The University required an expansion of its dining hall to accommodate additional guests for their growing enrollment and frequent event rentals. The 6,700 SF dining hall addition mimics forms from the newly renovated building (what newly renovated building) while blending complimentary materials on the exterior. Tall windows and a mezzanine lounge welcome visitors to feel comfortably nestled among the trees and wildlife. The orientation of the dining hall unites seamlessly with the historical campus master plan. It terminates with a reclaimed view of the scenic Spokane River, quietly providing a unique dining experience in Spokane.
